Sentence upheld
A French appeal court confirmed a four-year prison sentence on Michel Garretta, the former head of the national blood bank, for knowingly distributing HIV-contaminated blood products to haemophiliacs, Reuter reports from Paris.
The court also confirmed that Jean-Pierre Allain, ex-director of transfusion research, should serve four years with two suspended.
